On this day, September 30, 1982, the iconic sitcom Cheers premiered on NBC! The show, set in a Boston bar, ran for an impressive 11 seasons with a total of 275 episodes. Over the years, Cheers won 4 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1983, 1984, and 1989. Despite its later success, Cheers struggled in its first season and was one of the lowest-rated shows in the country, nearly facing cancellation. However, it went on to climb into the top 10 for 8 consecutive seasons, becoming one of the most beloved sitcoms in TV history.

Fun Fact: After a rocky start in its first season, Cheers turned things around to become a top 10 show for 8 straight seasons!

Who remembers watching the early days of Cheers and following it through its successful run?
