On this day, November 17, 1984, Wham! scored their first #1 hit in the U.S. with the infectious pop anthem “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.” The song dominated the charts for three weeks in America and also reached #1 in the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Australia, and Iceland.
