On this day, July 29, 1983, “National Lampoon’s Vacation” premiered in theaters, starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo. This comedy classic follows the Griswold family’s hilarious misadventures on a road trip to the theme park Wally World.

Fun Fact! During the filming of the parking lot race scene between Clark and Rusty, it was a scorching 105 degrees, with the pavement reaching 130 degrees. The Wally World parking lot scenes were filmed at the Santa Anita Racetrack.
