On this day, December 20, 1984, a freight train carrying over 1 million liters of gasoline derailed in Todmorden, England, resulting in what is now known as the Summit Tunnel Fire.

The derailment caused a massive blaze inside the transportation tunnel, marking it as one of the largest tunnel fires in history. Thankfully, due to the quick actions of emergency responders, there were no fatalities, but the fire burned for several days and caused extensive damage to the tunnel and its surrounding infrastructure.

If you remember this then that makes you a og 80s lol.
