On this day, September 18, 1982, “Gilligan’s Planet” premiered on CBS! This animated spin-off took the beloved characters from the classic show “Gilligan’s Island” and stranded them on a new, uncharted planet. The series brought a sci-fi twist to the original concept, with the castaways finding themselves in humorous and adventurous situations in space.

Although it only ran for 1 season with a total of 13 episodes, “Gilligan’s Planet” remains a fun and quirky part of the Gilligan’s Island legacy, showcasing the enduring appeal of these characters in a whole new setting.
