On this day Seotember 16, 1984 Punky Brewster made its debut on NBC! The show ran for 4 seasons with 88 episodes and became an 80s favorite. Did you know the theme song was sung by Gary Portnoy, the same guy who sang the Cheers theme? Also, Cherie’s grandma in the show was played by her real-life grandmother, Susie Garrett!
