On this day, October 13, 1989, the crime-comedy Breaking In premiered! Directed by Bill Forsyth and starring Burt Reynolds and Casey Siemaszko, this film followed an aging burglar teaching a young apprentice. Despite a $5.5 million budget, the film only grossed $1.8 million at the box office.
