On April 28, 1989, the action comedy K-9 starring James Belushi was released in theaters. Directed by Rod Daniel, the movie followed Detective Michael Dooley who teams up with an unusual partner, a German Shepherd named Jerry Lee, to take down a powerful drug dealer.
