On this day, January 4, 1984, Night Court premiered on NBC. The sitcom ran for an impressive 9 seasons, spanning 135 episodes, and quickly became a fan favorite.

The show followed the eccentric antics of a Manhattan municipal court and its quirky staff, led by the charmingly unconventional Judge Harry Stone, played by Harry Anderson.

Fun Fact:

John Larroquette, who played the sharp-tongued prosecutor Dan Fielding, made history by winning the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor four years in a row (19851988) for his performance on Night Court.

Do you remember watching Night Court? Who was your favorite character, and what was your most memorable episode?
