On this day August 27, 1989, the sitcom Open House made its debut on Fox. The show ran for just one season, totaling 24 episodes, but it left a memorable mark thanks to its quirky characters and humorous take on the real estate business. A standout in the cast was Ellen DeGeneres, who played Margo Van Meter, a man-hungry secretary with a sharp wit, years before she became a household name.
