On This Day September 14 1987 – Dinosaucers Animation Premiered in Syndication
On this day September 14 1987, Dinosaucers premiered in syndication. The animated series introduced viewers to two factions of intelligent, anthropomorphic dinosaurs from the planet Reptilon: the heroic Dinosaucers and their enemies, the Tyrannos.

Blending action, science fiction, and humor, the show followed the Dinosaucers as they allied with a group of Earth teens called the Secret Scouts to battle the Tyrannos and protect Earth. With colorful designs, unique characters, and plenty of prehistoric themed action, it quickly became a memorable entry in 80s cartoons.

Although it only ran for one season, Dinosaucers developed a cult following and is remembered fondly for its creative premise and energetic Saturday morning storytelling.

80s insight: Dinosaucers reflected the 1980s love of mixing sci fi adventure with toy friendly cartoon concepts, where dinosaurs and outer space collided in true decade fashion.
