On this day March 26 1988 the final episode of What's Happening Now aired in syndication. The sitcom was a continuation of the original 70s hit What's Happening which aired from 1976 to 1979.

Set years later What's Happening Now reunited Raj Rerun and Dwayne as adults navigating careers relationships and everyday life. Raj was now a writer Dwayne worked in computers and Rerun still brought his signature energy to the group. The show also introduced new characters including Raj’s wife Nadine and community members from their Los Angeles neighborhood. It ran for 3 seasons with a total of 66 episodes and found new life in syndication as fans of the original series tuned in to see what their favorite trio was up to in the 80s.

Fun fact: Ernest Thomas Fred Berry and Haywood Nelson were the only main cast members to return from the original series and appear throughout the entire run of What's Happening Now.
