On This Day: March 22 1985 The Final Episode of V Aired
On this day March 22 1985 the final episode of the sci-fi series V aired. The show was based on the popular V miniseries and followed humanity’s ongoing battle against an alien race known as the Visitors who had secretly invaded Earth. Despite strong initial interest the series lasted only one season with 19 episodes before being canceled. One of its most notable cast members was Robert Englund who later became famous for portraying Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.

Fun fact: V was one of the first major sci-fi shows to introduce a resistance movement storyline which later influenced other series like The X-Files and Battlestar Galactica.

Trivia question: What was the name of the alien leader of the Visitors in V?
