Final Episode of Ripley’s Believe It or Not Aired in 1986
On this day, February 6, 1986, the final episode of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! aired on ABC. The show, which ran for four seasons with a total of 76 episodes, was based on the long-running newspaper feature and comic strip created by Robert Ripley.

Hosted by actor Jack Palance for most of its run, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! showcased strange, bizarre, and sometimes unbelievable stories from around the world. From odd talents to historical curiosities, the show fascinated audiences and brought Ripley’s famous brand of storytelling to television.

Though the 1980s version of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! ended in 1986, the concept has been revived multiple times over the years, with later versions hosted by Dean Cain (2000) and Bruce Campbell (2019).

Fun fact: Jack Palance’s intense delivery made him a memorable host. His dramatic narration and signature phrase, “Believe it… or not!”, became one of the most iconic TV catchphrases of the decade.

Trivia question: Which famous action movie from 1989 featured Jack Palance as a villain opposite Michael Keaton?
