Both had strong family dynamics, funny moments and characters we still remember. Growing Pains gave us the Seavers and Family Ties had the Keatons and of course Alex P. Which show do you think nailed the 80s family sitcom feel better?

I’m going with Family Ties. I always liked Michael J Fox and the show was great. Growing Pains was good too but not as good as Family Ties.
 
I picked Growing Pains. That show just had heart. You could laugh at Mike’s jokes one minute and get emotional the next. The characters felt like a real family. It was always the one I looked forward to the most.
 
Family Ties. I had a little celebrity crush on Michael J. Fox. Alex P. Keaton was funny, smart and different from all the other characters on TV back then. I loved how the show mixed serious issues with humor without losing the heart.

Michael J Fox was just a great actor. He nailed the role of Alex.
 
I loved both but Growing Pains was my favorite. The Seavers felt like a real family to me. Plus that theme song gets stuck in my head every time I hear it. It just had more heart for me.
 
I always leaned more toward Family Ties. I thought the dynamic between Alex and his parents was so good. It had funny moments, but it also tackled real stuff without getting cheesy. I did watch Growing Pains too.
