Some people turn their hobbies into a career or a way of making money. Can you think of any examples?

Probably photography and a fitness instructor. Those two come to mind and a baker so three.

One example that is quite popular for many now is live streaming video games. I moved into this myself for a few years before I had to change course on my career.

It is not impossible to make money from live streaming but it does take a lot of dedication and hard work to make it full time and be able to earn enough to make a living.

I never understood how that produces income. Watching someone play video games when I could be playing makes no sense to me.

No idea how it works

One way is through ads like Nebulous stated. Another way is people sign up lets say on their patreon, twitch for a monthly subscription and what not. Some of these individuals do very well.
