Today on August 24th Mark David Chapman was sentenced for the murder of John Lennon. On December 8th 1980 around 10:50 pm Chapman followed Lennon into an archway of a building and then shot him twice in the back. John Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival at 11:15. Earlier that day John Lennon autographed Chapman’s copy of Double Fantasy over at the Dakota.
