On this day, October 14, 1987, 18-month-old Baby Jessica fell into her aunt’s 22-foot well in Midland, Texas. It took 56 hours for rescuers to free her in what became a national story that captivated millions. The dramatic event later inspired the ABC made-for-TV movie Everybody’s Baby: The Rescue of Jessica McClure. Do you remember following this event back in ’87?
