On this day, October 26, 1988, The Van Dyke Show premiered on CBS. Starring Dick Van Dyke alongside his son, Barry Van Dyke, the show followed the comedic life of a former Broadway star turned television host. Despite the real-life father-son duo, The Van Dyke Show ran for only one season with a total of 10 episodes before it was canceled.
