On this day, October 26, 1982, Gavilan premiered on NBC. Starring Robert Urich, the show followed the adventures of a former CIA agent who now worked as an oceanographer, but often found himself pulled back into thrilling espionage cases. Although Gavilan only ran for one season with 13 episodes, it captured a dedicated audience who enjoyed its mix of action and intrigue.
