On this day, October 22, 1982, the psychological horror film The Sender was released in theaters. Directed by Roger Christian and starring Kathryn Harrold, Zeljko Ivanek, and Shirley Knight, the movie tells the eerie story of a suicidal man who has the ability to project his terrifying dreams and thoughts into the minds of others. Though it didn’t become a major box office hit, The Sender gained a cult following for its chilling atmosphere and intriguing premise.
