On this day, November 4, 1986, The Pretenders released their fourth album, Get Close. Featuring the hit single “Don’t Get Me Wrong,” the album reached #25 on the Billboard charts in the U.S. and climbed to #6 in the UK. Known for its blend of rock and pop with Chrissie Hynde’s unmistakable voice, Get Close brought a fresh energy to The Pretenders’ sound and became a fan favorite in the ’80s.
