On this day, December 25, 1986, the mystery thriller The Morning After premiered in theaters. Directed by Sidney Lumet, the film stars Jane Fonda and Jeff Bridges in a gripping story about an alcoholic actress who wakes up next to a murdered man and has no memory of the previous night.

Jane Fonda received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role in the film.
