On this day, December 11, 1985, The Jewel of the Nile premiered in theaters. Directed by Lewis Teague, this action-adventure sequel to Romancing the Stone reunited Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito for another thrilling journey filled with danger, humor, and romance.

With a $25 million budget, the film was a box office success, grossing $96.7 million worldwide. The story follows Jack Colton (Douglas) and Joan Wilder (Turner) as they embark on a new adventure in the Middle East, facing peril and betrayal while seeking the legendary “Jewel of the Nile.”
