On this day, December 12, 1987, the final episode of Popeye and Son aired on CBS. This animated series brought a new twist to the classic Popeye character by introducing his son, Junior, who inherited some of his dad’s love for adventure but wasn’t too fond of spinach!

Running for just one season with 13 episodes, Popeye and Son combined family-friendly humor with the charm of the original Popeye cartoons, offering a nostalgic nod to the past while appealing to a new generation of viewers.
