On this day, October 19, 1989, The Bear directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud was released. Starring Tchéky Karyo, Jack Wallace, Andre Lacombe, and the star of the film, Bart the Bear, this adventure drama was praised for its stunning visuals and the unique story told from a bear’s perspective. With a $31 million budget, the film grossed a whopping $120 million worldwide, though only $31 million came from domestic box office sales. The Bear became a beloved nature film for many.

Do you remember seeing The Bear when it was released?
