On this day, October 19, 1984, Big Country released their second album Steeltown. While the album reached #70 on the Billboard charts in the U.S., it was a much bigger success in the UK, where it hit #1. Steeltown was praised for its raw energy and powerful themes, with the band continuing to blend their unique Scottish influences into the post-punk and rock scene.
