On this day, November 6, 1987, Steel Dawn, a post-apocalyptic action film directed by Lance Hool, premiered in theaters. Starring Patrick Swayze alongside Lisa Niemi (his real-life wife), the film follows Swayze’s character, a wandering swordsman, as he protects a desert community from a ruthless warlord. Despite its modest budget of $3.5 million, Steel Dawn only brought in $562,000 at the box office but has since become a cult favorite among fans of ’80s action and sci-fi.
