On this day September 2, 1988, the film Eight Men Out made its debut in theaters. This compelling drama, which stars John Cusack, Christopher Lloyd, Charlie Sheen, and D.B. Sweeney, tells the true story of the 1919 Black Sox scandal, where eight Chicago White Sox players were accused of intentionally losing the World Series in exchange for money from gamblers.

Did You Know? Both Charlie Sheen and John Cusack were standout baseball players during their childhood, which made filming the baseball scenes in the movie a breeze for them.
