Welcome to WeLoveTheEighties.com. We’re glad you’re here. This forum is for anyone who loves the greatest decade of all time. While the 80s were all about fun, a community still needs structure to thrive. So yes, we have a few rules. They exist to keep the forum friendly, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.

Please review the rules below. Use of this forum constitutes agreement to follow them. Rules may be updated at any time.

Accounts and Usernames​

• One account per member. Duplicate accounts will be banned. If you have a legitimate reason for a second account, request approval in the Help section.
• Do not impersonate others. This will result in a ban.
• Usernames must be appropriate. No offensive, suggestive, or vulgar names. No swearing in usernames. No accented characters.
• Username changes are allowed after 90 days of membership. One change allowed per year.

Posting Conduct​

• Use respectful language and avoid attacks on others. Abuse, threats, or harassment will result in a ban.
• Posts must be in English. If quoting another language, include a translation and source.
• No spam or promotional content.
• Do not post private information (yours or others).
• Avoid walls of text. Use paragraphs, bullet points, and proper grammar.
• All caps is considered shouting and should be avoided. Repeated use may result in warnings or bans.
• No trolling, thread bombing, or deliberate disruption. Stay on topic and contribute in good faith.
• Some swearing is allowed when expressing frustration, but excessive or abusive language is not. Do not direct profanity at other members.

Thread Etiquette​

• Do not derail someone else's thread. If you have a separate topic, start a new one.
• Avoid "necro-bumping" old threads unless your reply adds value.
• Multiple back-to-back posts are discouraged. Edit your previous post instead.
• No "post and run" threads. Engage in your topic and respond if people reply.
• No clickbait or vague titles. Be clear about your thread’s topic.

Avatars and Signatures​

Avatars:

• No animations or sexually explicit images.
• If in doubt, ask a staff member before uploading.
• Management may remove any avatar at its discretion.

Signatures:

• Maximum image size is 128 pixels high by 512 pixels wide.
• No animated graphics or explicit content.
• No commercial links. Personal blogs or charity sites are allowed.
• Text must not exceed two lines. Font size must be 18 or smaller.
• No images are allowed in text signatures.

Content Policy​

• No links to pirated media, software, or similar material.
• Discussions on sensitive topics (race, politics, etc.) are allowed only in context and with respect. No promotion of hate.
• If unsure whether a post is appropriate, message a moderator before posting.

Account Deletion​

If you request account deletion:

• Your personal data including email and IP will be deleted.
• Your posts and threads will remain.
• Your username will be changed.
