On this day, March 4, 1991, the beloved actor John Candy tragically passed away at the age of 43 due to a heart attack. Renowned for his warmth and humor, Candy left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment. Among his many memorable roles, he is best remembered for his portrayal of the lovable and unconventional Uncle Buck in the 1989 comedy classic of the same name. His performances in 80s movies like "Uncle Buck" have cemented his legacy as a comedic genius, bringing joy and laughter to audiences around the globe. I find it difficult to choose a favorite John Candy movie because they're all great but one that comes to mind instantly is Planes, Trains and Automobiles. What's your favorite John Candy movie?
My two favorite scenes with him are from Uncle Buck and Planes, Trains and Automobiles. On Uncle Buck the scene where he gets to the party and opens up his trunk and pulls out the cordless drill. Second on Planes the scene where his face is frozen lol. The guy was just perfect.
