On this day May 22 1989 Nik Kershaw released his fourth studio album The Works. Known for his earlier 80s hits like Wouldn’t It Be Good and The Riddle, this album saw Kershaw take a more reflective and adult approach to his music. It moved away from his established synthpop sound and leaned into more traditional pop rock arrangements with introspective lyrics.
