On this day, November 10, 1981, Kiss released their ninth studio album, Music from “The Elder”. A concept album with a fantasy storyline, The Elder marked a bold departure from the band’s usual hard rock sound. Though it reached #75 on the Billboard charts in the U.S. and #5 in Switzerland, it received mixed reviews from fans and critics. Over time, however, The Elder has developed a cult following as one of the band’s most experimental works.
