On this day June 8, 1989, Rod Stewart performed the very first concert at Toronto’s brand new Skydome. The state of the art stadium, later renamed the Rogers Centre, opened its roof for a crowd of over 50,000 fans as Stewart launched the venue’s entertainment legacy in grand fashion.
