On This Day: June 15, 1989 - Nirvana Releases Debut Album Bleach.

On this day June 15, 1989, Nirvana released their debut album Bleach on the independent label Sub Pop. Recorded for just over six hundred dollars, the album introduced the raw and heavy sound that would later evolve into the grunge movement of the early 90s.

Bleach reached number 89 on the Billboard charts, but it would gain much more recognition after the band’s breakout success with Nevermind in 1991. The album featured songs like About a Girl, Love Buzz and School, showing off Kurt...
