On this day June 12, 1981, Raiders of the Lost Ark premiered in theaters and introduced moviegoers to one of the most iconic characters of all time. Directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by George Lucas, the film starred Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, a fearless archaeologist and adventurer who quickly became a pop culture legend.
