On this day July 17, 1988, professional wrestler Bruiser Brody died at the age of 42 after being stabbed in the locker room before a scheduled match in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The attack occurred during a World Wrestling Council event and sent shockwaves through the wrestling world. Brody, known for his wild brawling style and larger than life presence in the ring, was fatally wounded and later died from his injuries at a local hospital.
