On this day July 10, 1987, White Water Summer premiered in theaters and delivered a tense coming of age survival story set in the rugged wilderness. Directed by Jeff Bleckner, the film starred Kevin Bacon as a confident but controlling wilderness guide who takes a group of boys on a backcountry trek that quickly turns dangerous. Among the young cast was Sean Astin, in one of his earliest roles.
