He wasn’t all that popular before his one hit wonder 867-5309/Jenny. Even after that, he never released anything that became a major hit. But 867 was and still is one of the greatest songs of the 80s.

You think I remember? I called up that number various times with different area codes. The best one was the voicemail with a girl singing the chorus.
 
Oh god my friends and I called that number many many times. Back then there weren’t all these area codes either.
 
It was like an 80s right of passage. If you didn’t call that number at least once shame on you 😂. That’s like saying you’re a fan of the 80s and never called the Hall & Oates hotline. 💁🏻‍♂️
