On This Day: April 30, 1982 - Partners Opens in Theaters.

On April 30, 1982, the comedy film Partners was released in theaters. Directed by James Burrows, who was already well-known for his work in television, the movie starred Ryan O’Neal and John Hurt as two mismatched police officers going undercover to solve a series of crimes in Los Angeles.

Despite the strong talent involved, Partners struggled to find an audience. With a production budget of 6 million dollars, it barely broke even by earning just over 6.1 million dollars at the box office...
