On this day April 27 1988, Evelyn Champagne King released her ninth studio album Flirt. Known for her smooth voice and dancefloor anthems in the late 70s and early 80s, King continued her run of R&B hits with this release.

Flirt reached number 192 on the US Billboard 200 and made a stronger impact on the R&B charts where it peaked at number 20. The album featured a polished late 80s production style mixing upbeat tracks with slow jams that showcased King’s vocal power.
