On this day April 1 1984 Al TV premiered on MTV as a one of a kind parody takeover hosted by Weird Al Yankovic. The show was a spoof of traditional music video countdowns and news programs with Weird Al injecting his signature humor into fake interviews, twisted music news segments, and offbeat video picks.
