On this day, November 24, 1984, the horror-thriller Of Unknown Origin premiered in theaters. Directed by George P. Cosmatos, the film starred Peter Weller in one of his early lead roles as an obsessive homeowner battling a relentless rat in his newly renovated house.

Though it only earned $1 million at the box office against a $4 million budget, the film gained a cult following for its tense atmosphere and Weller’s intense performance. Of Unknown Origin remains a hidden gem for fans of 80s psychological horror.
