Thriller arrived at a moment when music videos were becoming events rather than promotions. More than a video, it felt like a short film, blending music, storytelling, and spectacle in a way television had never really seen before. For many viewers, this was the video you waited for, talked about the next day, and remembered for years afterward. Seeing it for the first time felt like the rules had changed.
