On June 27, 1981, Kim Carnes’ hit single “Bette Davis Eyes” reclaimed the top spot on the American charts, becoming the #1 song in America for the second time. Initially reaching #1 from May 16 to June 19, the song returned to #1 from June 27 to July 24. Its popularity wasn’t limited to the United States; “Bette Davis Eyes” also topped the charts in Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, and South Africa, making it a global sensation.
