While some sources suggest the song was released earlier on January 19, 1987, it truly cemented its place in pop culture as the theme song for the romantic comedy Mannequin.

The track topped the charts around the world, becoming the #1 song in the US from April 4 to April 17, 1987, and also reaching #1 in the UK, Canada, Ireland, and Portugal. With its soaring vocals and uplifting lyrics, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now remains one of the most memorable anthems of the 80s.
