On this day, January 30, 1980, the slasher film To All a Goodnight premiered. Directed by David Hess, known for his acting roles in cult horror films like The Last House on the Left, this movie marked his only directorial effort.

The film follows a group of college students staying at a sorority house over the Christmas break, only to be terrorized by a mysterious killer dressed as Santa Claus. With its mix of holiday cheer and horror, To All a Goodnight became an early entry into the holiday-themed slasher genre.

The movie stars Jennifer Runyon, Linda Gentile, and Forrest Swanson, delivering performances that have since gained a cult following among fans of 80s horror.
