Overview:
Green is the sixth studio album by the American alternative rock band R.E.M., released in November 1988. It was the band's debut major label album for Warner Bros. Records and represented a stylistic departure from its guitar-driven rock sound to an acoustic approach that they would follow for its subsequent two albums. The band continued to explore left wing political values in the album's packaging and lyrics, promoting green politics. To promote Green, the band embarked on a two-year world tour and released four singles: "Orange Crush", "Stand", "Pop Song 89", and "Get Up".
