On this day, November 16, 1981, Chic released their fifth album, Take It Off. Known for their funky grooves and disco sound, this album marked a shift in style for the band as they explored more electronic and R&B influences. Take It Off reached #124 on the Billboard charts and includes memorable tracks that showcase Chic’s evolving sound in the early 80s.
