On this day, October 18, 1983, the Carpenters released their 11th studio album Voice of the Heart. This album, which peaked at #46 on the Billboard charts, holds special significance as it was released after Karen Carpenter’s tragic death earlier that year. The album features the song “Now,” which was Karen’s final recording. Voice of the Heart is filled with the soft, emotional ballads that the Carpenters were known for, and it’s a bittersweet reminder of Karen’s incredible voice and legacy.
